Vietnam, and China sign 10 deals in agriculture and trade.

On Sunday, as part of Chinese Premier Li Qiang’s three-day visit to Hanoi, the two neighbors inked ten agreements ranging from cross-border QR code payments to agricultural cooperation in an effort to strengthen their relationship. With bilateral trade up 21% to $148 billion in the first three quarters compared to the same period last year, China is Vietnam’s biggest trading partner and a key import source for its manufacturing sector. Following Li’s meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, there was a signing ceremony. Li and President To Lam, the leader of Vietnam’s Communist Party, decided on Saturday to strengthen their collaboration in agriculture and the economy. Pham Minh Chinh, the prime minister of Vietnam, requested that China increase agricultural trade with Vietnam, provide access to Vietnamese farm products, and improve customs.
